Our school bushcraft sessions are packed with hands-on activities that introduce children to practical woodland skills, from shelter building and fire lighting to navigation, animal tracking and discovering the natural environment.
It’s an opportunity to try something different, take on new challenges, build confidence and teamwork, and discover what they can achieve In the wild.
Designed around your school
Whether you’re planning a school trip, an enrichment activity, a curriculum-linked session or a Duke of Edinburgh experience, we can tailor our bushcraft sessions to suit your group and learning objectives. Sessions can be arranged during or after school hours, with flexible durations to fit your plans.
Our instructors are first-aid qualified, hold enhanced DBS checks and bring experience in survival skills and tree biology, helping pupils learn practical skills in a safe, supportive outdoor environment.

Skills for the classroom and beyond
Bushcraft is about more than learning to light a fire or build a shelter. It gives children the opportunity to develop practical skills, build confidence and discover what they can achieve outdoors.
Working together to complete challenges encourages communication, teamwork and problem solving. Pupils learn to share ideas, make decisions and find solutions when things don’t go to plan, developing independence and resilience along the way.
Learning in the woodland offers a different perspective from the classroom, giving pupils the space to try new things, take on challenges and learn through hands-on experience.

Tucked away in the Cheshire woodland, Into the Wild can only be reached on foot, making the journey part of the outdoor experience.
Depending on your chosen route, allow at least 15 minutes to walk to the venue. When planning your visit, remember to factor in the walking time and share the route with teachers, accompanying adults and parents in advance, so everyone knows what to expect.

We recommend comfortable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for walking on woodland paths and taking part in practical activities. Waterproofs and extra layers are a good idea, depending on the weather.
Clothes may get muddy, so please dress pupils for a day of outdoor adventure rather than school clothes.

Yes. Teachers and accompanying adults are responsible for supervising their pupils throughout the visit.
Our instructors will lead the bushcraft activities, provide guidance and support pupils as they take part in the session.

Into the Wild is accessible on foot only, with no direct road access to the site. Please allow at least 15 minutes to walk from the designated car park, depending on your chosen route. We recommend sharing the walking directions with teachers, accompanying adults and parents ahead of your visit so everyone knows what to expect.
