Get hands-on with nature and learn practical bushcraft skills In the Wild. Our bushcraft workshops are designed to give children and adults the opportunity to learn something new and gain confidence in the outdoors.
Learn how to light a fire, identify natural materials and use the woodland around you, with practical sessions designed to get you involved rather than simply watching.

Into the Wild opens at 9am and closes at 4.30pm. Your Wild Play ticket gives you all-day access to the woodland and all of the activities available on the day. Arrive anytime during our opening hours and stay for as long as you like.

Parking at Bowdon Church School Grange road WA143EX on (Saturday and Sunday and School holidays parking closes at 5pm opens at 9) please see our website for walking routes.. for this route and many others should this be unavailable. If it is unavailable it will be clear on our website. And an alternative easy route will be given.
Please see our routes to see if accessible with pram. Most routes are much easier with a carrier..and is advised over a pram. however we have done most of them with a double pram.
On site coffee shack wood fired pizza and a fully licensed bar ..and so much more!
Picnics are welcome if you have booked the wild play area.

Food, drink and picnics…
Make a day of your Into the Wild visit with food, drinks and plenty of places to sit and enjoy them in the woods. Grab a coffee from the Coffee Shack, enjoy freshly made wood-fired pizza cooked to perfection, or pick up snacks, sweet treats and cold drinks throughout the day. Our licensed bar also serves a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
If you’d rather bring your own, you’re welcome to pack a picnic and find a spot in the woodland to sit back, refuel and enjoy your surroundings.
Getting here is part of the adventure…
Into the Wold is tucked away in the Cheshire woodland, and getting here is part of the experience. There’s no road access to the site, so to get here, you’ll have to leave the car behind and follow one of our woodland routes on foot.
Depending where you start, the walk takes 15-20 minutes, giving you the chance to leave the noise behind, get some fresh air and start your woodland before you’ve even arrived.

Throughout the year, we host seasonal events and special experiences that bring a little extra adventure to the wild, from school activities to Halloween, Christmas and other celebrations.

Wild Play is open every weekend and during school holidays, giving families plenty of opportunities to enjoy a day outdoors throughout the year.

Wild Play is designed for children of all ages to explore, play and enjoy the outdoors, with plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. Adults are welcome to get involved and enjoy the fun too.

As Into the Wild is set in woodland with uneven, natural paths, some areas are not easily accessible with a pram or pushchair. A baby carrier is recommended for younger children.

Yes. Everyone visiting Wild Play, including adults and children, needs a ticket. Children under two visit for free.

Wild Play is an all-day experience, so you can arrive, explore the woodland and enjoy the activities at your own pace throughout the day.

Yes. The Coffee Shack serves coffee, cold drinks, snacks and treats, while freshly made wood-fired pizza is available on selected days. You can also bring your own picnic.

Yes. Dogs are welcome at Into the Wild, but please bear in mind that Wild Play can be busy with lots of children around. Dogs must be kept on a lead and supervised at all times.

Come prepared for the outdoors. Comfortable clothing and sturdy footwear are recommended, particularly as you’ll be exploring woodland and taking part in outdoor activities.
