Skills for the classroom and beyond
Bushcraft is about more than learning how to light a fire or build a shelter. It gives children the opportunity to develop practical skills and confidence while spending time outdoors.
Working together to complete challenges encourages communication, teamwork and problem solving. Children have to listen to each other, share ideas and find solutions when things don’t go to plan. Being outside In the Wild also gives pupils the chance to develop independence and resilience. They can try something new, make decisions and learn from the experience.
Most importantly, it’s a chance to learn in a completely different environment, away from the classroom.
